CLASS DAY
This ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of graduating students from the Columbia College Class of 2014. Students’ names are read as they process across the stage and receive a class pin. Student life, academic, and alumni awards and prizes are conferred to students.
Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2014
Time: 9:30 a.m. Seating begins at 8:30 a.m.
Location: South Lawn, Morningside Campus
Speaker: Jon Oringer, MS’98, entrepreneur and the founder of the popular microstock photography site, Shutterstock
Tickets: Not required
Caps and Gowns: Required of participating graduates
Diplomas: Following the graduation ceremonies, diplomas for May 2014 graduates will be mailed to the “Diploma Address” on file in SSOL.

As graduates and guests gather in different locations for the ceremony, it is extremely difficult to navigate campus and give your guests there tickets that morning.

Columbia Announces 2014 Honorary Degree Recipients.
Honorary Degrees are awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to research, publication, law, science, government, education and literature. Honorary degrees were first awarded by Columbia in 1758. Honorees do not need to be graduates of Columbia University.
The University Medal for Excellence is awarded each year to an alumnus or alumna, under 45 years of age, whose record in scholarship, public service, or professional life is outstanding.
